AC Milan have undergone something of a transformation as they head into this International Champions Cup tournament in China with no less than eight new players making the journey to the Far East as the side look to maintain the momentum following a 4-0 victory over Lugano in early July. Their meeting with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund will certainly be a much tougher assignment and AC Milan will be hopeful of putting in a quality performance.
The pre-season outings are hugely important to the Serie A side as they look to step-up their preparations for the league campaign and possibly mount a serious challenge on the Champions League places towards the end of the season. Indeed given that Borussia Dortmund will be fielding something of an experimental line-up in this clash, we fancy AC Milan’s chances of getting one over on the German side.
Dortmund head into this competition amid plenty of speculation surrounding Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and they will be desperate to bounce back form their surprise friendly defeat to Rot-Weiss Essen. The Bundesliga side failed to outclass the lower-league opponents with Aubameyang and Dembele goals proving insufficient to secure the win.
Dortmund have nevertheless impressed and we believe that they prove very worthy opposition to AC Milan at the University Town Main Stadium. Indeed both sides have been amongst the goals in recent outings and we envisage this being the case in this clash with Over 3.5 goals looking excellent value at 3/5 with Ladbrokes.
