Arsenal face Bayern Munich in the second game of the International Champions Cup in Shanghai on Wednesday.
The Chinese part if this year’s International Champions Cup takes place this week with the curtain-raiser seeing AC Milan clash with Borussia Dortmund in Ghanghzou. With AC Milan and Bayern Munich being the only sides to play two games in the Chinese edition of the competition, one of them will surely emerge as victors given that the remaining teams – Dortmund, Inter Milan, Lyon and Arsenal – play just once.
Arsenal are visiting on their way back from Australia where they faced two Sydney teams and after visiting Shanghai they head to Beijing for the next stage of their hectic schedule where they face Chelsea. They go head-to-head with Antonio Conte’s men a second time when they clash in the FA Community Sheild at Wembley next month, although they must first test their mettle against German champions Bayern against whom they have struggled in recent Champions League meetings.
Bayern Munich have met the Gunners in all-but-one of the past five Champions League campaigns, the most recent seeing the Germans dominate emphatically with a 10-2 aggregate victory. Bayern will be looking to grab a sixth consecutive Bundesliga title and they have impressed in their pre-season friendlies so far this summer. The German side head to Asia where they will play a total of four games then they will host the Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena with a clash with Liverpool and either Napoli or Atletico Madrid.
No odds have been released for this match, however we envisage another win for Bayern as they prove once again to be Arsenal’s bogey team.
