Blackburn Rovers have having a bit of a torrid time of things this season so far and they remain very much in the danger zone as far as relegation to League One is concerned. Tony Mowbray’s men dragged themselves out of the bottom three thanks to their hard-fought 1-0 win over fellow-strugglers Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon with Marvin Emnes scoring the only goal of the game in what may prove to be a crucial win for Rovers.
Blackburn have now won their last three home games in the Championship with wins by the same scoreline over Queens Park Rangers and Derby County last month. Indeed we’re not expecting an emphatic win tonight at Ewood Park but three points would be extremely welcome by the home side irrespective of how they are secured.
Things have been pretty mixed for Cardiff City of late. They enjoyed morale-boosting wins over Leeds United, Derby County and Rotherham United last month but head into tonight’s match on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers. The Bluebirds have been pretty inconsistent away from home since the start of the campaign and whilst they managed excellent wins at Elland Road and Pride Park last month, we expect them to struggle against a Blackburn Rovers side which have been showing real signs of improvement in recent weeks and who are particularly solid at Ewood Park.
As such we have little hesitation in backing a home win tonight and at odds of 15/8 there is certainly value to be had in backing a Rovers victory.
