This has been a thoroughly memorable season for Lincoln City, the Imps reaching the sixth-round of the FA Cup for the first time in their long history with wins over Championship sides Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion as well as Premier League outfit Burnley along the way. They sit atop the National League as things stand and whilst Forest Green Rovers have moved level on points, the Imps do enjoy a three-games-in-hand advantage over their main title rivals.
All of this points very much towards a return to the Football League at the end of the season and Lincoln City can move closer to that goal by collecting all three points at Boreham Wood tonight.
‘The Wood’ are sitting in a mid-table position in the National League table following what has been a pretty indifferent campaign and their last meeting with Lincoln City at Meadow Park ended in a 2-0 defeat in the FA Trophy. Will it be the same outcome this time around or will Boreham Wood exact their revenge by grabbing the three points?
We feel that it will be the former. Lincoln have been enjoying some great form of late and they head into this match on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in the league. Their FA Cup and FA Trophy exploits have resulted in the Imps being absent from National League action for a fortnight although we believe that they will make a triumphant return by managing a maximum points haul in Hertfordshire this evening.
