Bristol City have been flirting with the relegation zone for much of the season although Lee Johnson’s men did themselves a massive favour by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers to the tune of 3-1 at the weekend, this result lifting the Robins four points clear of the bottom three as we head into the Easter weekend.
They have a chance to build on that much-needed victory on Easter Friday when they lock horns with Queens Park Rangers at Ashton Gate and we’re pretty confident of the home side’s ability to secure all three points on this occasion.
Johnson’s side have been pretty solid in front of their home fans in recent weeks with just a solitary defeat in their last seven games at Ashton Gate. The last two home matches have seen the Robins score seven with just one in reply and we believe that this excellent form will continue on Friday afternoon.
For their part, Queens Park Rangers have been struggling recently and whilst they remain some ten points clear of the relegation zone, they need to stop the rot before it sets in too deeply. Rangers predictably thrashed hapless Rotherham United 5-1 last month but since then they have failed to collect a single point from their subsequent three outings and we don’t envisage this situation ending at Ashton Gate on Friday afternoon.
All-in-all, the Robins are solid in front of their own fans and are relatively safe from the spectre of relegation. QPR realistically have little left to play for this season and as such, we’ll be going for a home win.
