Leeds United have been amongst the play-off contenders for much of the season but they have hit a sticky patch at the worst possible time. Some dismal results have sent them out of the top-six and with just three matches left to play before the campaign draws to a close, they desperately need to get things back on track.
The Whites have managed a mere four points from their last five Championship outings throughout April. A 1-0 defeat to Reading was followed by a 2-0 loss at Brentford earlier this month. Leeds enjoyed the upper hand when winning 3-0 at home to Preston but they could only manage a point in what was nevertheless an impressive performance at St James’ Park before they failed to claim anything at home to Wolverhampton wanderers last weekend.
Such results would suggest that they will have a battle on their hands should they wish to climb back into the top six before the end of the season, although the visit to Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon should present Garry Monk’s men with a perfect chance to return to winning ways.
The Whites are outside the play-off places purely on goal difference as we head into the final few matches and with a win on Saturday an absolute necessity, we’ll be backing the visitors to successfully bounce back by collecting all three points against a Brewers side which have been struggling at the Pirelli Stadium over the past few months.
