Fleetwood Town are a relative newcomer to the Football League having made the jump from the non-league game just five short years ago. Indeed just ten years ago they were plying their trade in the lower reaches of the non-league pyramid, however they are now knocking at the door of the Championship, no mean feat for what isn’t a large club by any stretch of the imagination.
The Trawlermen sit firmly in the play-off zone just four points adrift of the automatic promotion places and a win this weekend could lift them even closer to the top-two, but what are their chances of returning home with a maximum points haul?
Pretty good we think. Fleetwood have been enjoying some decent form of late both at home and away, their last twenty league games seeing just a solitary defeat. On the road they have been no less impressive and we believe that they will prove too much of a handful for a Shakers outfit which are languishing firmly in the bottom half of the League One table as things stand.
Bury have been pretty solid at Gigg Lane this season and are certain to put up a strong fight, although ultimately our money is going to be on the visitors as they look to maintain the pressure on Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United at the top of the table by collecting all three points this afternoon.
