A fine 2-1 victory at Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium prior to the international break saw Chelsea’s excellent winning run extend to some five games and with no defeats in their last twelve competitive outings, we see no reason to believe that they won’t add another three points to their already impressive total as they close in on the Premier League title.
Antonio Conte’s Blues have suffered just a solitary defeat in their last 23 games across all competitions and it must surely be only a matter of time before they are crowned as English champions.
This weekend they go head-to-head with struggling Crystal Palace and it is very hard to make a case for the visitors at Stamford Bridge. The Eagles are just four points above the relegation zone and while they boosted their chances of remaining in the Premier League for at least another season thanks to their four back-to-back victories prior to the international break, they remain very much in the danger zone and we don’t expect them to manage anything in West London on Saturday afternoon.
It’s almost impossible for us not to back table-toppers Chelsea to win this weekend by a relatively handsome margin and having seen Antonio Conte’s men concede just eight times at Stamford Bridge this season so far, we’ll be expecting the Blues to manage a clean sheet into the bargain.
