Derby County v Blackpool betting preview - Rams will hammer already-relegated Seasiders

This season has been an unmitigated disaster for Blackpool, off-field problems adding to on-field struggles at the seaside club. Derby County should therefore find little opposition as they continue to fight for automatic promotion.

Derby County v Blackpool betting preview - Rams will hammer already-relegated Seasiders

In reality, with just four games left to play in the Championship, anything could happen in the top eight, just seven points separating leaders Bournemouth from eight-placed Wolves. Derby can make their case for an automatic promotion place when they face League One-bound Blackpool tomorrow..

This should prove to be a one-sided affair, a fact clearly recognised by the bookmakers. Derby will win this match, however at odds of 1/4 for a home win we wouldn't be placing our money on the Rams at such meagre odds, however certain the victory is.

Blackpool have been utterly dreadful this season and will probably be amongst the favourites for a second successive relegation next year. Let's get this campaign over first however and despite the seaside club being eager to end a poor season on a high, they will have little chance against a Derby side which desperately needs points in order to climb back into the automatic promotion race in what has been a hugely competitive division.

The Rams are some seven points adrift of the top two and possess a much inferior goal difference, however they are just one point inside the play-offs and failure to win on Tuesday evening could result in them dropping outside the top six altogether, not something which manager Steve McClaren would be accepting.

As such, we should expect a thorough display from the hosts and also another dismal display from Blackpool. With that in mind, we'll be backing a comprehensive home win-to-nil for McClaren's Rams tonight and more pressure on their promotion chasing rivals.
