Having upped their game somewhat in their closing two Group A matches, the Young Lions head into the semi-final of the European U21 Championship with a decent head of steam and with Germany going down 1-0 to Italy in their final group match at the weekend, England will fancy their chances of getting one over on the Germans on Tuesday. Nevertheless Germany launched their campaign in excellent fashion with back-to-back wins in their opening two fixtures and they are more than capable of improving upon their previous performance.
As far as betting is concerned, we'll be going for Both Teams to Score. Germany and England may have conceded just one goal apiece so far in the competition but they haven't looked too secure when put to the test and given the attacking prowess of both of these sides, it's hard to envisage a clean sheet for either team.
England have banged in five goals in their last two matches and with players such as Nathan Redmond, Demarai Gray and Tammy Abraham it isn't hard to see the Young Lions finding a way through a German defence which conceded against the Italians and who were somewhat fortunate to keep clean sheets against the Czech Republic and Denmark.
That said, England also look less than secure in defence despite leaking just a single goal in the tournament so far. Germany are looking pretty tough going forward and it's easy to envisage them causing the England rearguard plenty of problems while their own defensive frailties could prove their undoing.
However you look at this game, whichever side has the best chance of making it into the finals, an outcome which involves a clean-sheet isn't an option which looks likely to us.
