Fulham were a late arrival in last season’s play-off places and they lost out to Reading in a two-legged challenge for the Wembley final, however things aren’t going quite to plan this time around with the Cottagers far from impressive thus far. They did manage a couple of decent Championship wins before the international break however with three points collected at Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers, therefore one would be inclined to fancy their chances on home turf this weekend.
It took Slavisa Jovanovic’s men a while to get going this season, their first Championship win coming in the fifth round of fixtures, by which time the Cottagers had managed three draws with Norwich City, Reading and Leeds United as well as a defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday. The question is, can Fulham extend their two-game winning run when they return to Championship action on saturday afternoon?

Visitors Preston North End have been on top form in recent weeks and they head into this match on the back of an impressive eight-game unbeaten run, the Lilywhites beating the likes of Cardiff City (3-0), Birmingham City (3-1) and Hull City (2-1) along the way – the latter two away from home. They held Sunderland to a 2-2 draw at Deepdale in their last outing and given that they have suffered just a single away defeat in the league since the start of the season, we expect them to more than hold their own at Craven Cottage this weekend.
All-in-all this is a pretty tough match to call. Both sides have been enjoying some excellent form in recent outings with nine goals scored between them in their last two outings. Indeed whilst we’ll be avoiding the outright winner market, we feel it safe enough to assume that there’ll be a few goals at Craven Cottage and to that end we’ll be siding with Over 3.5 Total Goals with the bookmakers going 7/4 on this being the case.
