Sunderland have endured an utterly disastrous season and they now know that their next season will be spent in the Championship, however this weekend they will travel to East Yorkshire to face a Hull City outfit which will be doing their best to ensure that they won’t be joining the Black Cats in the second tier.
Marco Silva’s Tigers have been hovering around the relegation zone for much of the season although they have shown signs of improvement in recent outings. With four points taken from their last two games things are certainly starting to look up, however with just two points existing between Hull City and the bottom three in the Premier League, there is certainly little room for complacency at this stage of the campaign.
Nevertheless the Tigers were impressive in their 2-0 win over Watford two weeks ago and they followed this with a creditable goal-less draw at Southampton. Indeed the Tigers have been pretty solid at the KCOM Stadium of late with just two points dropped in their last seven Premier League home games, an excellent run which included a 2-0 win over high-flying Liverpool.
Given this sort of home form we fancy the hosts’ chances of managing a maximum points haul on Saturday afternoon and we also believe that the Tigers can keep a clean sheet against a Black Cats outfit which are pretty dreadful away from the Stadium of Light. Sunderland have managed a mere ten goals away from home this season and we don’t envisage them adding to this when they head to East Yorkshire this weekend.
