Forget Rangers and Celtic, this is Scotland’s fiercest derby match. OK so maybe we’re exaggerating somewhat although the fact remains that these two sides are bitter rivals and would clearly love to get one over on each other. Inverness may be in a more precarious position in that they sit firmly at the foot of the Scottish Premiership table but with only four points between the two sides, much is clearly at stake.
On a head-to-head, Ross County have a distinct advantage this season with two 3-2 victories at the Caledonian Stadium and Victoria Park, therefore Inverness will be looking to exact revenge. Do we fancy their chances? Not really if we’re honest. The hosts sit at the foot of the table thanks to a pretty dreadful campaign so far and whilst Ross County have hardly been much better, they will nevertheless have been boosted by their recent win at Heart of Midlothian earlier this month and draw at Ibrox in February.
We shouldn’t forget that Inverness themselves recorded a much-needed win over Rangers just three weeks ago at the Caledonian Stadium and whilst this was likely a ‘shock’ result which probably won’t be repeated this season, they should at the very least manage to prevent Ross County from making the short journey back to Dingwall with the three points in the bag. Indeed a share of the spoils looks to be the most likely outcome of this clash and we’ll be backing a draw at the Caledonian Stadium at odds of 23/10 with Ladbrokes.
