Ross County and Kilmarnock are both clear of the danger zone and a relaxed affair should ensue when the sides meet at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon.
Kilmarnock secured their top-flight status for next season some weeks ago now and whilst they lost at Motherwell in their last outing on Tuesday evening, they will be looking to bounce back by finishing their campaign on a high with a win at home to Ross County.
Killie have hardly enjoyed a good season by any standards and it was only thanks to some late-season improvement that they found themselves clear of the danger zone. This in itself is hardly cause for much celebration although now that their top-flight status has been assured for another campaign, they can relax somewhat in their final game of the season.
Ross County are in a similar situation in that they successfully climbed clear of the relegation zone some weeks ago and with some decent results under their belts in recent outings, the Highlanders will be confident of collecting all three points at Rugby Park this weekend. The Dingwall side have avoided defeat in their last seven Premiership games with four wins along the way, these including a 4-0 thrashing of local rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle as well as an excellent 2-2 draw with Scottish champions Celtic.
The visitors’ away form has been thoroughly impressive with just a single defeat in their last six matches on the road and we believe that they will grab another when they make the lengthy journey down to Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon. The hosts have been pretty hit and miss on home soil recently with just one home win since January and Ross County will be doing their utmost to ensure that they don’t manage a second.
