Both Leicester City and Bournemouth scored late goals in their last outings to salvage a point apiece and they look set to be involved in another draw when they lock horns with each other this weekend. Leicester City opened last weekend’s Premier League action and after trailing at the break courtesy of a Xherdan Shaqiri goal for Stoke City, they drew level with Potters keeper Jack Buckland palming into his own net in the 70th minute.

Bournemouth were forced to share the spoils with Newcastle United, however they showed plenty of resolve in the way in which they clawed their way back from 2-0 down with two goals of their own in the final ten minutes.

Looking at the wider picture, there remains a possibility that either of these sides could yet clinch a Europa League berth at the end of the season should one of the top five sides win the FA Cup. Manchester City have the title very much in the bag but the title of ‘Best of the Rest’ is still up for grabs and no team is currently dominant in this regard.

Leicester City remain in this season’s FA Cup although they have a tough assignment in the next round of the competition when they go head-to-head with Chelsea. Nevertheless the Foxes will be confident of managing an all-important Premier League win in front of their own fans, especially so given that the visiting Cherries are far from predictable on their travels this season with a 3-0 win at Chelsea being followed by a 4-1 hammering at Huddersfield Town earlier this month. Their confidence will have been boosted by their two late goals against Newcastle United however and with Leicester City’s inability to beat Stoke City at the King Power Stadium, we’ll be siding with the spoils to be shared in the East Midlands this weekend.
