This has been an excellent season for Millwall, at least so far. They have quietly gone about the business of creeping up the League One table in unspectacular fashion and are now knocking on the door of the top six. We expect them to proceed into it on Tuesday evening.
The Lions are on a bit of a roll at the moment, sitting as they are on the back of a fifteen-game unbeaten run. They knocked Premier League sides Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester City out of the FA Cup earlier this year and have enjoyed a full 750 minutes of football without conceding a single goal. Great stuff, however can they continue this amazing form into Tuesday evening’s clash with Peterborough United?
We see absolutely no reason why not. OK so the Posh are also sitting pretty close to the play-off places but they have been something of a mixed bag of late with three wins and three defeats from their last six outings. Indeed their performances away from London Road leave a lot to be desired and with just two wins on the road since the turn of the year, we certainly won’t be siding with the visitors when they visit the Den on Tuesday evening.
Millwall’s Den is an intimidating place to visit, and not just for the fans. Visiting teams can find the tense atmosphere daunting at the best of times and this is a huge advantage for the home side. The Lions are certainly the in-form League One team of late and one cannot ignore their fifteen-match unbeaten run, therefore we firmly recommend backing Millwall to win on Tuesday. At 4/5 they won’t provide you with a healthy return but add in a Peterborough consolation goal and you have a much healthier 13/5.
