Sheffield United are worthy champions of League One, the side having embarked on an excellent campaign which has seen them open up a fourteen-point gap on the rest of the chasing pack with two games left to play. Indeed the Blades head into this weekend’s clash at Milton Keynes having won their last five games with twelve goals scored and just one conceded.
Such excellent form would point very much towards an away win on Saturday afternoon, however with the League One title now in the bag, will Chris Wilder’s men take their feet off the gas or will they be looking to finish their campaign with a bang?
Just two games remain before the close of play and we don’t for a second believe that the Blades will ease up in the slightest. The Bramall Lane outfit have avoided defeat since January, a run of some fifteen League One games. This is without doubt a tremendous achievement which is extremely hard to ignore when considering the likely outcome of this weekend’s clash with the Dons.
For their part, Saturday’s hosts haven’t been doing too bad but they ultimately failed in their remit of reaching the play-offs. Their recent form has been something of a mixed bag and we see no reason to believe that they will spoil Sheffield United’s party by collecting all three points. The Blades will be looking to finish was has been an amazing season on a high and they will prepare for their end-of-season celebrations by grabbing for themselves the three points in their penultimate match this weekend.
