Arsene Wenger’s contract will expire during the summer and the Gunners fans are divided as to whether he should stay or go. A growing number of supporters believe that the time has come for a new man at the helm and the much publicised “No Contract Wenger Out” banner flown over the Emirates Stadium prior to the West Bromwich Albion was indicative of the sense of unrest which exists at the moment.
The number of ‘Wenger Out’ banners inside the stadium appear to be growing and following the dismal defeat to West Brom which resulted in the Gunners dropping down to sixth in the Premier League, the Frenchman said that he would be making an official statement about his future at the club.
Following this announcement the odds on the Gunners boss leaving his post fell to 2/5 although this price drifted earlier this week and William Hill now go 5/6 that Arsene Wenger isn’t manager of Arsenal on the opening day of next season. Nevertheless the same firm also go 5/6 that he stays put after the summer and this is the first time in six weeks that he has been odds-on to be Gunners boss next season. Irrespective of whether Wenger leaves of stays, it is looking increasingly likely that Arsenal won’t be finishing the current season with a top-four finish.
