Frank de Boer and Mauricio Pellegrino are not only amongst the favourites to take the reins at Southampton, they also head the betting to be next in charge at Crystal Palace. Pellegrino took over from Sean Dyche as favourite to fill Sam Allardyce's shoes following his departure at the end of last season although he is now in a two-horse race with Frank de Boer.
Pellegrino left Alaves following his side's defeat to Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey and he does have previous experience in the English top-flight having coached and played with Liverpool. Former Rangers player Frank de Boer has been linked with numerous positions in the Premier League of late having earned for himself an enviable reputation with Dutch side Ajax.
Pellegrino leads the betting market at best odds of 11/8 with BetVictor, however De Boer remains very much hot on his heels at odds of just 7/4 with Sky Bet. The bookmakers clearly believe that this is a two-horses race although they are taking no chances with Dyche just 3/1 as things stand.
Burnley are keen to keep Dyche at Turf Moor and the Clarets are drawing up a new contract which they will be desperate for him to sign, however there have been reports that Dyche is eager to move to Crystal Palace.
Some way behind in the betting is Christophe Galtier at 25/1 alongside Claude Puel, while Slavisa Jokanovic is 33/1.
