Next Everton manager - Koeman now 1/10 after huge rash of bets

To say that the betting market for Next Everton Manager has been extremely active would be a massive understatement, however the general consensus is that Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is the most likely man for the vacant position with William Hill going just 1/10 that he swaps the south coast for Merseyside.

Koeman still has twelve months remaining on his contract, however his future is now surrounded with much speculation and reports would appear to suggest that Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri wants the 53-year-old at his club.

Reports also suggest that Moshiri will offer Koeman a large salary and money to strengthen the side for the new season if he takes the job and many believe that this could prove too tempting for the Dutchman to refuse. A rash of bets on Koeman have now pushed his odds as low as 1/10 and he has now overtaken previous favourite Frank de Boer at the head of the betting market.

46-year-old De Boer has been unemployed since his departure from Ajax and his agent suggested that he was interested in taking charge of Everton. Indeed, he was the bookies favourite earlier in the week at 2/1, although since then his price has slipped substantially with Sky Bet going 16/1 that he is next boss at Goodison.

Also moving ahead of De Boer is Sevilla manager Unai Emery. The Spaniard has enjoyed a great season with Sevilla, leading them to Europa League glory as well as the final of the Copa del Rey. he has been linked with the Everton job since the departure of Martinez and William Hill go 9/1 that he makes the move to the blue half of Liverpool.

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was one of the early frontrunners for the vacant position, the Chilean making no secret of the fact that he wished to remain in the Premier League, however his price has now slipped from odds-on to 16/1 with Betfred and he is no longer seen as a likely candidate.
