The excitement is building at Carrow Road with the realisation that Norwich City could be in with a chance of promotion back to the Premier League, however with plenty of the season left to play, the Canaries need to build on their recent success.
Norwich opened the year with a fine 3-0 win over Derby County, however they subsequently fell to a 2-1 defeat to rock-bottom side Rotherham United. They bounced back from this disappointment in emphatic fashion by embarking on an excellent three-game winning run and manager Alex Neil will be confident that his men can continue in a similar vein when they welcome struggling Nottingham Forest to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.
Norwich City weren't amongst the sides expected to bounce back up to the top flight at the first time of asking following their relegation at the end of 2015/16 and whilst they are far from certain to be plying their trade in the top flight in 2017/18, they are at least giving a pretty good account of themselves in this season's Championship.
Just three points separate the Canaries from the top six and a win this weekend could see that gap close completely, however they will be made to fight hard for their points by a much-improved Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Forest remain without a permanent manager at the helm but this has had no negative impact on results. Indeed since the departure of Philippe Montanier, the side have surged up the league table with wins against Bristol City, Rotherham United and most recently Aston Villa. Nevertheless the visitors remain winless on the road in all competitions since November and they will certainly struggle against a Canaries side which have lost on just three occasions at Carrow Road this season.
This looks set to be an extremely tight affair although whilst Forest have shown massive improvement since the departure of Montanier, their away form leaves a lot to be desired and we'll be backing the hosts to grab their fourth successive win on Saturday afternoon.
