The Premier League fixtures keep coming in thick and fast with the first round of 2018 matches continuing tonight.
Southampton held Manchester United to a share of the spoils in their final outing of 2017 although they will be in for a very tough test when they welcome to St Mary’s a much-improved Crystal Palace side. The visiting Eagles held Manchester City to a draw last time out and they will certainly prove very tough opposition for the Saints.
Swansea City grabbed themselves a lifeline in their battle for Premier League survival although they aren’t expected to manage anything for their troubles when they go head-to-head with high-flying Tottenham Hotspur this evening. Mauricio Pochettino’s men thumped Southampton to the tune of 5-2 last time out and we expect another emphatic win for the Londoners in their next outing.
West Ham United showed signs of improvement following the appointment of David Moyes as manager, however they have managed just a single point from their last three outings and they will be in for a tough test by a West Bromwich Albion outfit which held an improved Everton and Arsenal to draws in their final two games of 2017.
Manchester City head into 2018 with a twelve point lead at the top of the table and they will be anxious to bounce back from their disappointing goal-less draw with Crystal Palace when they lock horns with mid-table side Watford at the Etihad Stadium.
Who will be the winners and losers tonight? We take a look…
