- Bet on Salah for Player of the Season at 10/1 with William Hill.
- Bet on Kevin De Bruyne for Player of the Season at 12/1 with BetVictor.
Mohamed Salah’s incredible return of 32 goals last season was enough to see the Egyptian given a host of accolades including the PFA Player of the Season, with the Liverpool forward among the favourites to scoop the same award for the 2018/19 renewal.
Salah will be part of a Liverpool side who look stronger than ever before, with Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri among the new recruits, although whether the 26-year-old can hit the same ridiculous heights is open to question.
Kevin de Bruyne was the favourite at the best bookmakers for much of last season and was only denied by Salah’s amazing string of performances during the spring, with the Belgian sure to be at the heart of everything that’s good about Manchester City next term.
KDB pulls the strings for a team who are looking to retain their Premier League title after amassing 100 points last term, although some competition for the PFA Award could actually come from his teammates.
Aguero a Contender?
Sergio Aguero rarely seems to make the Team of the Year irrespective of the goals he scores, although Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane were in a straight tussle to win the Young Player Award last season before the German eventually came through to win.
Gabriel Jesus, 14/1 at Paddy Power, is another player that could enjoy a breakthrough season, while Riyad Mahrez is a previous winner of the award after helping Leicester City to the title and the Algerian looks sure to have a big impact after his £60 million arrival.
It might be a surprise if the PFA Player of the Year came from outside Manchester City and Liverpool, although Eden Hazard remains at Chelsea for the time being and the former winner has the ability to shine against all kinds of opponents. His trickery helped Belgium go close at the 2018 World Cup and he might be buoyed by the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.
Watch Out for Aubameyang
Over at Arsenal, we should watch out for the scoring exploits of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who gave a hint of what he could achieve by notching ten goals in thirteen appearances last time out.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will be led into battle by Harry Kane who is bidding for a third top scorer prize, while Christian Eriksen is the ultimate playmaker in the Premier League and we should also look out for the returning Dele Alli, who may be worthy of one of your free bets.
Finally, Manchester United will hope to get the right tune out of Paul Pogba and perhaps the Frenchman will finally click for the Red Devils. After some sparkling performances which saw his France team win the World Cup, Jose Mourinho will have his fingers crossed.
