Norwich enjoyed an emphatic 7-1 win over promotion hopefuls Reading at Carrow Road last weekend, however they subsequently lost 3-1 at home to Fulham on Friday and it is that unpredictability which has cost Norwich City a place in the play-offs this season.
On the goalscoring front only Newcastle United and Fulham have found the back of the net more than the Canaries since the start of the campaign but the East Anglians have been conceding aplenty at the back with only Rotherham United and Nottingham Forest leaking more goals.
In all honesty we don’t anticipate anything changing for Norwich City prior to the end of the season, especially so since their campaign is now effectively at an end although interim boss Alan Irvine is likely to adopt an attacking-based approach this afternoon in order to provide the fans with some entertainment.
For their part, Preston North End also have little to play for except pride in their remaining four games although there is little to suggest that they will be slowing down on the goal-scoring front. The Lilywhites put five past woeful Bristol City two weeks ago and whilst they are far from solid at the back, we believe that they will give the Canaries plenty to worry about this afternoon.
All-in-all, this looks set to be a pretty closely fought match and whilst the goals will be flying in with reckless abandon, there is little to choose between the sides. With that in mind we’ll be avoiding the outright winner market completely and going for Over 3.5 goals instead at odds of 6/4 with Bet365.
