Queens Park Rangers are languishing in the bottom half of the Championship table following what has been a thoroughly disappointing season so far. Ian Holloway's men weren't expected to be challenging for top honours to be honest, however they were expected to put up a better fight than this.
Nevertheless Rangers are a relatively safe distance from the bottom three in the table with seven points separating them from the relegation zone and they can distance themselves even further from danger when they host struggling Wigan Athletic on Tuesday evening.
The Latics look set for a tough battle against the drop and going on their form since the start of the season we don't really fancy their chances too much. Warren Joyce's side did manage a welcome win at Wolverhampton Wanderers last week and a point at home to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon but this did relatively little to improve their situation.
Indeed while Wigan's win at Molineux was their second Championship win in three away games, their form on the road has been pretty dismal and we cannot in all honesty see this situation changing at Loftus Road. QPR may not have been at their best at home this season but we believe that they can collect the three points against a Wigan Athletic side who look set to be involved in a relegation battle.
