Just two seasons ago Paisley side St Mirren were gracing the top flight of Scottish football but now they find themselves staring relegation to League One squarely in the face following what has thus far been a thoroughly disappointing campaign. A couple of recent wins have helped matters somewhat but the fact remains that the Buddies are still some five points adrift of relative safety and a third successive victory tonight would narrow the gap.
St Mirren enjoy a game-in-hand on fellow strugglers Ayr United and Raith Rovers and we believe that they can put this to good use by collecting all three points in Kirkcaldy this evening. Indeed Jack Ross’ men have enjoyed something of a turnaround in the Championship in recent weeks with a 2-2 draw with Dumbarton being followed by 2-0 wins over both Ayr United and more impressively league leaders Hibernian.
Can they bag themselves a third league win on the trot tonight? Indeed they can and we’ll be backing the Buddies to make it three wins on the bounce by brushing aside Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park.
Raith are also struggling near the foot of the Championship table and their recent form paints a more dismal picture than that of their opponents tonight. The Kirkcaldy outfit have managed just six points from their last fifteen Championship outings with no wins during that time and we see no reason to believe that this dreadful run will come to an end tonight.
The visitors appear to have turned things around as they desperately attempt to haul themselves of the bottom of the Championship table and we’ll be backing them to further aid their cause by collecting a maximum points haul this evening.
