Rotherham United possess a stadium worthy of the Premier League, however they look destined to kick-off the 2017/18 season two divisions below the top flight following a disastrous campaign which has seen them fall to the foot of the Championship table.
The Millers are some fifteen points adrift of safety and it would require something not too short of a miracle to save them from the drop. Caretaker manager Paul Warne will have resigned himself to the fact that relegation is effectively inevitable and whilst mathematically the great escape is still possible, it would appear to be extremely unlikely given Rotherham's form this season.
The Millers have lost all but one of their last eight outings, the notable exception being the surprise 2-1 win over promotion-chasing Norwich City last month. Warne's men have struggled both at home and away and whilst they will be facing a Blackburn Rovers side who are also very much in the mire, we believe that the hosts will go in at the final whistle with nothing for their troubles.
Rovers have helped their cause by grabbing two wins from their last two Championship outings, however they haven't managed an away win in the league since November. This winless record on the road will come to an end at the New York Stadium however and with Rotherham failing to find the back of the net in any of their last four games, a clean sheet will be the icing on the cake as Blackburn edge their way ever closer to safety.
