Both Sutton United and Lincoln City have been hitting the headlines this season thanks to their FA Cup exploits with Sutton going out of the competition at the hands of mighty Arsenal and the Imps going a step further until they too were knocked out of contention by the Gunners.
Lincoln City are also enjoying a fine old time of things in their National League campaign where they currently occupy top spot thanks to an excellent season so far. They sit level on points with title rivals Forest Green Rovers but enjoy three games-in-hand and going on recent form we expect the Imps to put these to good use over the coming few weeks.
In many ways, the battle for the National League title is very much a three or four-horse race with Lincoln battling it out with Forest Green Rovers, Tranmere Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge, however Danny Cowley’s men are very much in the driving seat and we expect them to further cement their position at the top by collecting all three points tonight.
Lincoln City enjoyed an excellent win over Forest Green at the weekend, a welcome victory given that the Imps had gone down 2-0 to Bromley the previous week. Indeed we have no hesitation in backing them to collect a maximum points haul against a Sutton United side which may have shown massive signs of improvement of late but who continue to struggle against the better sides in the division. Lincoln are clearly one of those better sides and whilst the hosts should manage a consolation goal given that they put five past North Ferriby United at Gander Green Lane last weekend, a win for the Imps should send them very much on their way to a National League title.
