Swansea City were looking pretty good just a few short weeks ago but this purple patch couldn’t last and the Swans now find themselves teetering on the brink of relegation to the Championship. The South Wales side head into this weekend’s clash with Stoke City on the back of a losing run stretching back three matches and with just a single point collected from their last six Premier League games, the omens aren’t too good to say the least.
Nevertheless can Paul Clement’s men bounce back from their recent disappointments by securing all three points on Saturday afternoon? Indeed they can although they will certainly need to ‘up’ their game.
That said, Swansea City have been pretty solid at home of late and whilst they lost their last match at the Liberty Stadium earlier this month, it came against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur and this in itself came at the end of a decent home run which included back-to-back wins against Southampton, Leicester City and Burnley as well as a creditable draw with Middlesbrough.
All of this points towards a home win on Saturday afternoon against a Stoke City outfit which halted a four-match losing run by securing the three points at Hull City last weekend but which are dismal away from the Bet365 Stadium. Indeed the Potters have managed a measly four points from their last nine away games and as such, we’ll be going for the home side to capitalise on the visitors’ travel-sickness by grabbing for themselves a vital win which may go some way towards securing their Premier League status for at least another season.
