Tottenham Hotspur show little signs in slowing down as they look set to push Chelsea all the way this season. Ok so the Blues enjoy a nine point lead over their main rivals as things stand, however this gap is far from insurmountable and Mauricio Pochettino's men can pile the pressure on Chelsea by securing the three points against struggling Middlesbrough this weekend.
Spurs enjoy an excellent record at White Hart Lane this season with no defeats on home soil in all domestic competitions. Indeed their two 'home' Champions League defeats were both at Wembley Stadium therefore White Hart Lane really has been something of a fortress since the start of the campaign.
This will prove to be the case when Middlesbrough come to town on Saturday afternoon. Aitor Karanka's side have been struggling in the Premier League after a pretty promising start. Their form at the Riverside is bad enough but their performances on the road leave a lot to be desired. The Boro have failed to register a single win away from home since August with their sole success coming at Sunderland's Stadium of Light on the second weekend of the season. Since then Karanka's side have managed creditable draws at West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester City and Watford. The reminder of their games away from the Riverside have all ended in defeat and this looks set to be the case when they travel to White Hart Lane this weekend.
At odds of 2/7, backing a Spurs victory won't make you rich, however we'll also be looking to Harry Kane to get himself onto the scoresheet. Kane has failed to find the net in his last two Premier League outings but he managed a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in mid-January and we expect him to end his barren spell by scoring against a Middlesbrough side which are pretty much there for the taking on Saturday afternoon.
