Chelsea are effectively nailed-on as far as the Premier League title is concerned and only a dramatic collapse would deny them the ultimate domestic prize in Antonio Conte’s first season as Blues boss. Such success was looking very unlikely earlier in the season when Chelsea followed an uninspiring draw away to strugglers Swansea City with back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, however the west London outfit responded in excellent fashion by embarking upon an amazing run of form which has seen them suffer just a single defeat in their subsequent 20 Premier League outings.
This emphatic run has seen them storm to a commanding lead in the top-flight and whilst Spurs narrowed the gap to seven points courtesy of their 3-2 victory over Everton at the weekend, we expect the Blues to restore this lead to ten points at the final whistle tonight.
West Ham United fell into the bottom half of the table following the weekend round of fixtures and they need to improve results should they wish to avoid slipping even further. With just a single win in their last four home games, their form at the London Stadium has been pretty shambolic with emphatic home defeats by all the ‘big’ sides in the division. Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City (twice) have beaten the Hammers by at least two goals at the London Stadium and we believe that Chelsea will inflict another such defeat upon Slaven Bilić’s men tonight.
Diego Costa wouldn’t surprise anyone were he to find the net this evening, the Spanish international scoring in his last two Chelsea outings and now edging ever closer to the twenty goals he scored in his first Premier League season. Costa represents excellent value on the anytime goalscorer market at 11/10 with Paddy Power, however we’ll be combining him with a Chelsea victory at slightly better odds of 11/8 with Ladbrokes.
