Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils put in what was without doubt their best performance of the season so far when they defeated Premier League leaders Chelsea to the tune of 2-0 at Old Trafford last weekend and there is no reason to believe that they won’t build on this excellent result by dumping Belgian side Anderlecht out of the Europa League tonight.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic played no part in the weekend clash with the Blues and it was left to teenage sensation Marcus Rashford to help United over the line. The Swede will be back for tonight’s clash however and we expect him to help the Red Devils into the semi-finals of this competition.
The Premier League has been a hard slog for United this season and whilst they remain close to securing a top-four position as things stand, they still need to close a four-point gap between themselves and arch-rivals Manchester City, no mean feat even though Mourinho’s men enjoy a game-in-hand over the Citizens.
Nevertheless Manchester United remain favourites to win the Europa League and such an outcome would automatically lift them into next season’s Champions League. There is still much work to do however thanks to an unfortunate late goal for Anderlecht in the first leg of this quarter-final tie last week. That said, the bookmakers expect United to get the job done tonight in front of a packed Old Trafford with most firms going just 1/4 on a Red Devils victory.
Can they do it? We believe so, however they will certainly have their work cut-out by a determined Anderlecht outfit. You can also get in on the action by claiming an excellent £10 Free Bet on the match, courtesy of Sky Bet. Just open a new account today and the free bet is yours, no deposit needed!
