Every week, we will bring you all the key betting data for the biggest games. This weekend, we highlight Tottenham’s trip to Chelsea in a key clash at the top end of the Premier League table. Chelsea’s title hopes look all but over as the gap between them and leaders Manchester City stands at 12 after the Blues drew 1-1 at Brighton on Tuesday. Thomas Tuchel’s side have dropped 13 points in their last seven games.
Spurs are currently one point off a top four spot after two very dramatic league games. Davison Sanchez’s 96th minute goal secured a 1-0 win at Watford before Antonio Conte’s side trailed 2-1 at Leicester in the fourth minute of injury time. But Steven Bergwijn scored in the 95th and 97th minute to secure a dramatic 3-2 win. Will there be more late drama on Sunday and what bets are worth considering?

Chelsea To Continue Their Domination Against Spurs
Since the Premier League started in 1992, Chelsea have had the better of their north London rivals winning 32 of the 59 meetings while Spurs have celebrated victory just seven times. It’s fair to say Spurs don’t enjoy this fixture and for those who have been at the club for the last seven seasons, they won’t need reminding of their trip to Stamford Bridge in May 2016.
Dubbed the ‘Battle at the Bridge’, Tottenham needed a win to keep the pressure on league leader Leicester and at half-time, everything was going to plan. Spurs led 2-0 but a 2-2 draw ended their hopes of being the champions of England for the first time since 1961. Many of the leading betting sites have Chelsea as favourites to win this derby.
Tottenham have not beaten Chelsea in the last 10 meetings and this would be a great time to end that barren run. This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides this season with Chelsea coming out on top in all three. A 3-0 league win in September was followed by 2-0 and 1-0 wins in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Thomas Tuchel won’t admit publicly that Chelsea’s title hopes are over but 12 points behind City, they pretty much are. Chelsea are 15/8 with BetVictor to win their fifth meeting with Spurs to nil while a Chelsea clean sheet is 13/10 with 888 Sport.

Alonso And Alli Enjoy This Fixture
Certain players raise their game when they play a local rival and that certainly has been the case with Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso. Listed as a defender, Alonso spends more time in and around the opposition box than his own which is why he pops up with the odd goal or two.
He already has a goal this season and playing against Tottenham brings the best out of him. The Spaniard scored both his side’s goals in a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane in August 2017 with the winner coming in the 88th minute. Alonso, who scored what turned out to be the winner in February 2020 in a 2-1 win for the Blues, is 11/2 with Bet365 to be an anytime scorer this weekend.
For Spurs, this fixture has been kind to Dele Alli who has scored five of Tottenham’s last 10 league goals against Chelsea. However, the midfielder has struggled to nail down a place in Tottenham’s team this season and he was an unused sub for their 3-2 win at Leicester. Alli can be backed at 5/1 with Unibet to be an anytime scorer.

First Half To Be An Even Contest
Consistency has been an issue for Chelsea in recent weeks but the one thing that has been consistent about the Blues this season has been their ability to get to half-time without losing. In their 23 league games so far, Chelsea have led 11 times and been all square in the other 12.
One of those first halves that ended level was the first league meeting with Spurs which was 0-0 at the break. However, three second half goals ensured Chelsea took the three points. Tottenham have been level at half-time in their last three games which makes a draw at the interval a bet worth considering.
The good news for Spurs fans is that their team have gone on to win the last two games in which they have been drawing at half-time. Unibet are offering odds of 13/10 for the first half to be all square when Paul Tierney brings the first half to an end at Stamford Bridge.
New customers only, min deposit and bet £10 (£20 if E/W bet) from UK Debit card only. Paypal not accepted. Min odds evens (1/5 per multi selection). T&Cs apply.
Late Drama Could End This Derby
Antonio Conte is one of those managers who wears his heart on the sleeve and lives every kick of a game. We can only imagine what his heart rate was when his team produced back-to-back late wins.
Had it not been for their late, late shows, Tottenham would be five points worse off on 31 points which would have them eighth in the table. Instead, Spurs are fifth one point behind West Ham who occupy the final Champions League place.
With the exception of basement side Burnley (17), Tottenham have played the fewest number of games in the league. Sunday’s derby will be their 20th league game of the season and with three games in hand on the Hammers, a top four finish is still a possibility.
The most optimistic Spurs fan will look at the eight-point gap between them and Chelsea and think the Blues could be chased down especially with four games in hand. But Tottenham need to win this game if those hopes are to be realised. Conte will happily go through the wringer once again if it means victory over his former club.
If that means another late winning goal, then so be it. William Hill are offering odds of 10/11 for a goal to be scored by either side in the 76th minute or later. Spurs are 10/3 with William Hill to score in the final 15 minutes while Chelsea are 13/8 with William Hill to find the net between the 76th minute and full-time.
