Supercoppa Italiana 2019: Juventus vs AC Milan Betting Tips

BETTING TIPS:

Often played as a curtain raiser before the season gets underway, this year’s edition of the Supercoppa Italiana will be held on Wednesday evening in Saudi Arabia.

An annual contest between the Serie A champions and the Coppa Italia winners, it will be an interesting clash between Juventus – who hold both trophies – against cup runners’ up AC Milan.

“We’ve got a private jet taking us to Jeddah and hope to recover our energy quickly,” Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso said at a press conference last weekend. “It’s a big game, even aside from the silverware at stake and it can help us grow in terms of character and mentality.”

They will have good memories of their last Supercoppa outing, beating Juve on penalties just over two years ago to lift the trophy as Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Paulo Dybala’s final spot kick.

“We’ll do our best to win again,” the goalkeeper told DAZN earlier this month, but he knows he will be up against a vastly improved Bianconeri attack.

Now boasting Cristiano Ronaldo, Juve have yet to lose against a domestic opponent this term and his team-mates are focussed on delivering success against Milan.

“It will be a great game and one we want to do well in because we want to bring the trophy home,” said midfielder Federico Bernardeschi after the cup match with Bologna on Saturday.

There is no doubt that this heavyweight clash will be entertaining and fans of both sides will be hoping to see their team lift the first silverware of the 2018/19 campaign.

Form Suggests Juve Will Win

Having won 17 of their 19 Serie A fixtures this term, the Bianconeri sit in first place, an eye-popping 22 points ahead of a Milan side who have won just two of their last seven matches in all competitions.

The aforementioned 2016 Supercoppa triumph was part of a short but impressive spell for Milan under their then-Coach Vincenzo Montella, with his side also recording a league victory over Juventus just two months earlier.

Since then however, the Old Lady has made short work of Milan, winning each of the last six meetings and out-scoring the Rossoneri by 15 goals to three.

That includes the Coppa Italia final back in May (which Juve won 4-0) and a 2-0 win for the visitors at San Siro as recently as November. Those results make it difficult to see beyond another Juventus win, with RedBet offering odds of 11/20 on them securing a victory during 90 minutes.

Expect Goals Galore

Perhaps the biggest take away from recent results between these two teams is just how entertaining their meetings have been.

Indeed, while the aforementioned Coppa Italia final might have been lopsided, encounters between Juventus and Milan have been fun for neutral viewers for some time, with many of them seeing a flurry of goals on either side.

Across their last 12 clashes in all competitions, the duo have found the back of the net on no fewer than 29 occasions, making the final scoresheet on Wednesday well worth further attention.

Given that they have surpassed a tally of three goals four times in their last seven head-to-head matches – this is certainly one to consider, with the outcome of over 2.5 goals available at odds of 20/21 with Karamba.

Patrick Cutrone To Have The Last Word?

Looking for value in the goal scorer market is difficult, with Cristiano Ronaldo heavily favoured with most bookmakers and Gonzalo Higuain – a player who loves to score against his former clubs – desperately out of form.

However, Patrick Cutrone is certainly worth consideration here.

The 21-year-old was decisive in Milan’s Coppa Italia clash with Sampdoria, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win after replacing Higuain for extra time.

That has been a running theme this term as six of Cutrone’s nine goals in all competitions have come as a substitute.

He is likely to once again come off the bench against Juventus, who could – given their domestic dominance – already have the game won by the time the young Italy striker is introduced by Gattuso.

With that in mind, it perhaps worth looking at the last goal market, with Cutrone available at an intriguing 10/1 with Betway Sports to grab the final goal of this game.

He’s done it plenty of times before, why not back him to do it again?
