Next QPR Manager Odds

Queens Park Rangers have fallen short of their aim to finish in the Championship top six this season. It means that Mark Warburton has left the building, with the West London club searching for someone who can build a promotion-winning squad ahead of next season.

Liam Manning has done excellently with MK Dons in League One this season, and it’s no surprise to see his name linked with the vacant position, while Gary Rowett is also a strong candidate considering the Millwall manager overachieved at The Den last season and got close to the play-offs.

Shaun Derry has also risen towards the head of the market with the best betting apps and has an obvious QPR connection, with John Eustace and James Rowberry next in the betting.

Liam Manning Heads QPR Manager Betting

Many QPR supporters might be unaware of Liam Manning, but the 36-year-old has been making waves since getting the opportunity to manage MK Dons in 2021. He narrowly failed to move them into the automatic promotion spots of League One recently, and they missed out in the play-offs when losing to Wycombe.

However, Manning’s managerial performance has certainly put some bigger clubs on high alert, and that seemingly includes Queens Park Rangers. They will want to have someone in place who can build a squad capable of challenging for a top-six spot next term and hopefully find a way back to the Premier League.

Some might regard Manning as something of a risky appointment considering his modest experience. The former Ipswich Town academy coach has worked his way up the ladder quickly, and he also spent four years in charge of the West Ham under-23 side.

Would Rowett Consider Leaving Millwall for QPR?

Gary Rowett has a wealth of Championship managerial experience, and the 48-year-old is certainly well regarded at The Den. The Millwall boss steered the Lions close to the Championship play-off spots last term and will be hoping to build on that success next season.
However, it's possible that QPR will have a bigger budget to sign better players, and Rowett is no stranger to switching between clubs. He has had managerial spells with Birmingham, Stoke and Derby already, with the former Rams defender clearly open to managerial vacancies that become available.

Could Rowberry Switch from Newport to Loftus Road?

James Rowberry is another relative unknown unless you follow lower division English football, although he’s another young manager who has made positive strides this season. The 37-year-old had youth coaching roles with Bristol City and Newport County before getting promoted to the top job at Rodney Parade when Mike Flynn left this term.

Rowberry is someone with plenty of ambition, and the Welshman could be eager to assess any available opportunities, although the QPR board might regard this as a big step up for someone whose only senior experience has been at League Two level. Nevertheless, the early odds with some of the best new betting sites suggest he is a big candidate.

Would Eustace Be a Pick for QPR?

John Eustace has been linked with the Queens Park Rangers manager’s position before, with the 42-year-old having previously been part of the coaching setup. He was the assistant manager from 2018 onwards and also had two stints as caretaker boss.

More recently, Eustace was made assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland national team, although the former Watford and Derby County player could be open to the prospect of taking the reins on a permanent basis at a club that he knows well.

Robinson, Sherwood and Hughton Also Among Betting Favourites

Despite having a wealth of managerial experience, Karl Robinson is only 41. He started out as the manager of MK Dons in 2010 and spent six seasons in charge before spending two further seasons in the dugout at Charlton Athletic during what was a fractious time at the club. He is now in charge of Oxford United but might apply for the QPR role.

Tim Sherwood has been out of football management since 2015, although he has been linked to the possibility of returning to the dugout with QPR. It would be interesting to see if the media pundit is interviewed or whether that ship has sailed.

Chris Hughton would be a more viable contender, although the fact that Nottingham Forest have blossomed so much since he left this season doesn’t bode well for his chances. It’s possible that he can still sell himself as someone who can do a job with the right resources.
